Radiators
Radiators can be fitted as a complement to an underfloor heating system or as a system in it’s own right. The design process is exactly the same, and while the heating characteristics of the two systems differ somewhat, the comfort level of all heating systems designed by WTS-Design are essentially the same.

The distribution system is outlined below. The radiators in any quote are sized to suit the project. You may obtain these from us as part of the order or locally from your merchant.

WTS Design Radiator Distribution Systems

The WTS-Design radiator system offers many advantages to the traditional way of plumbing-in a heating system such as this. Like the plumbing system and indeed our underfloor heating systems it is manifold based.
This basically involves a central point (the manifold) from which there are continuous pipe runs to each radiator. It is not a new concept, it has been practised in Germany, France, Italy and many other countries in Europe, and indeed worldwide. It involves a different slant on your thinking, and there are many advantages to this set up. The main ones are as follows:-
- Central and easily accessed distribution point(s) for the heating system
- No joints or couplings under the floor or in difficult to reach places
- Ease of installation for the system
- Easy balancing for the system
The advantages listed above spill over to create yet more benefits. There is a very real reduction in time spent on site putting the whole system together. Some of the regular tradespeople using this system have quoted time savings of around 40%. This reflects in your labour costs directly.
Another saving comes from the use of Alpex pipe. The multilayer pipe consists of a layer of aluminium sandwiched between two layers of PEX pipe. The advantages are many, not least the cost. At time of writing it is almost half the price of copper.
Consequently, use of the Alpex pipe and the accompanying compression or press fittings completely removes the need for naked flames as the use of a
propane torch for fixing joints is redundant. This can result in lower insurance bills.
Finally we have the 10 year WTS-Design system guarantee. This should provide further peace of mind, even though it hasn’t been call on in our 16 year history!
